Andrea Orlando: artistic director, composer, vocal coach and conductor

The CONTEMPORANEA Vocal Ensemble has been founded in 2017 as a cultural and musical project of studying, performance and recording of the choral repertoire of 20th Century and of contemporary composers.

Originally founded as a mixed voices group, in 2020 it turned into a female voices ensemble.

Among the many studying activities, are included the breathing and vocal techniques specific to singing, perceptual hearing awareness techniques and the study of dissonances in both tonal and atonal harmonic contexts.

The repertoire includes pieces by European and non-European composers, as well as compositions written for the ensemble by the conductor Andrea Orlando himself.
