Andrea Orlando starts his musical studies in his early age with the study of piano and drums, playing drums in Rock groups in which he often also takes on the role of solo voice, composer and songwriter.
He then began his studies in Composition, starting very soon an intense activity of composing music for theatrical performances, short films, RAI National Radio programs, in collaboration with some of the most important actors and directors of the Italian theater, radio, television and cinematic scene.
His interest and passion for Cinema in particular will lead him to acquire the 2nd Academic Level Diploma in “Music applied to images” at the Conservatory of Rovigo.
In the meantime Andrea Orlando continuously dedicates himself to the composition and orchestration of concert music as well as to the writing of music and lyrics of Rock and Pop song. To date, his vast musical repertoire includes compositions written for the most diverse ensembles and instruments, both classical and modern, from small ensembles to large orchestras, from solo voices to large choral groups.
In addition to his activity as a composer, since his professional beginnings, Andrea Orlando has devoted himself to the study of choir conducting and singing, both modern and classical with Tenor voice, acquiring the Diploma of “Choral Music and Conducting choir” at the Conservatory of Bari and the Diploma of “Singing” at the Conservatory of Padua.
His uninterrupted activity as choir director, singer and singing teacher continues in both modern and classical fields, for concerts and studio recordings; the repertoires range from the ancient medieval and Renaissance eras, through every ages, up to the contemporary era, in languages such as Italian, English, French, German, Hebrew and Latin, including popular music and Carols of the Anglo-American Christmas tradition. In the modern musical field, in addition to Rock and Pop, he also dedicates himself to the Musical Theater, the Spirituals and the African-American Gospel tradition.
Andrea Orlando is the conductor of the instrumental and choral groups created from time to time for all his projects. He’s artistic director and promoter of musical projects for the diffusion and the teaching of Music.
Beside his activity as a musician, Andrea Orlando is a painter (@andreaorlando.artworks on Instagram) and a writer of short tales.
